About

We kept hitting the same wall, so we built the thing that fixes it.

HeyJanet.AI is a Fivespot product. Fivespot is a digital marketing agency — the day job is getting companies found and getting them answered for correctly. HeyJanet came out of the second half of that sentence.

The day job

From getting found to getting answered for.

For years the work was search: make sure that when somebody types a question into Google, the right company comes back, saying the right thing.

Then the question stopped going to Google. It started going to an assistant — and the assistant does not hand back ten links for a person to judge. It hands back one answer, in a confident voice, with no indication of where it came from. That changed what the job is. It is no longer enough to rank. What matters now is what the model reads before it speaks for you.

That is the work — answer engine optimization, if it needs a name. And the moment you take it seriously, you run into the wall: for most companies, what the model reads is a folder nobody has cleaned out since 2019.

Where the idea came from

A room full of contractors, and the wrong problem on the slides.

We were asked to present on how field professionals could use AI day to day. Real prompts, real workflows, things you can do from a phone on a jobsite.

It went well. People wrote things down. And then the questions started, and every one of them was the same question wearing a different hat: “How does it know that’s the right one?”

Somebody had asked an assistant about a warranty and got terms the company stopped offering. Somebody had a price come back from a sheet two revisions old. Nobody in that room had a prompting problem. They had a document problem that AI had just made expensive — because a person reading a folder knows the 2019 price list is old, and a model does not.

The advice everyone gives is “be careful what you feed it.” That is not advice, that is a shrug. So we went and built the other thing: a library where every document has exactly one version that counts, where the assistant is told which one, and where replacing a document is the entire process.

An AI file clerk for people who run real operations — so nobody quotes last year’s price by accident, and nobody has to become an AI expert to stop it happening.

Why us

What an agency brings to this that a software company doesn’t.

We came at this from search

Our day job is getting companies found — first in search engines, now in answer engines. The same question runs through both: when something answers on your behalf, where is it getting that from, and is it right?

We work with operators, not tech companies

Contractors, dealerships, clinics, restaurant groups. People who run real operations and do not have an IT department to hand this to. That is who HeyJanet is built to be usable by.

We use it before we sell it

The workflows in HeyJanet started as our own. We are not describing something we read about — we are shipping the thing we built to solve our own version of the problem.

Where it stands

Built, working, and in front of you today.

This is not a waitlist for something being written. The full loop runs: you upload a document, it is screened and versioned, the one it replaces stops being answered from, and the answers change to match.

Where we are

Construction first. Then everywhere else
the paperwork never sits still.

If you run one of these businesses and the version problem sounds familiar, we would rather show you than pitch you.
